MCDO fundraiser: Construction of a four Classroom Block at Mgahinga Community Nursery and Primary School
Started by a women’s farming group in 2007, Mgahinga Community Nursery and Primary School (MCNS) is a center for child education and development located a few minutes way from Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in Kisoro, Uganda. MCNS is one of the many projects implemented by Mgahinga Community Development Organization. MCNS initially started as a community kindergarten, but with support from the community and donors, the school has expanded to include primary one to six with enrollment of 122 (67males and 55 females) children.
Apart from providing quality education to these young stars, the project is also a job creator where it currently employs 10 staff (8 teachers, 1 cook and 1 administrator). Our vision is to see MCNS grow into a fully functioning primary school with a kindergarten and classes running from primary one to seven. But as we envision this goal, the challenge is the lack of enough classrooms to create a conducive learning environment for our current and future students. We cannot achieve this goal without you generous support. Please consider giving a donation today so that MCDO can build a four classroom block at Mgahinga Community Nursery and Primary School. Having four new classrooms is projected to increase the enrollment rate by 80%, which implies that an additional 100 children would attain education training in Kisoro. Donate via this Link.
