I am Sinamenye Jackson born and bred in Mugwata Village, Muramba Sub County, Kisoro district and currently a student at Makerere University pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Software Engineering.

How I came to know the MCDO sponsorship program and how it has helped me.
It was in 2004 when I had just joined second term of my senior one at Kabindi Secondary School when I purposed to study for the first days and thereafter sit home when the school starts demanding fees because my parents could not manage to pay for me. Luckily enough my parents had talked to Mr. Charles Nzabakurikiza about the challenge they were going to face in paying my fees, because Charles knew much better about the program and the people who work in it, he forwarded my problem to Mr. Festo Kamanzi who invited me  in his office for further discussions on my problem. When I went to meet him from his office because he knew all about me, he gave me a form to fill and told me to go back to school as they look for me a sponsor.  I became happy and my minds that had already started thinking of other things made up again and started thinking about education .I went back home, reaching home I told my parents that I have gotten a sponsor who is going to help in paying fees and they became very happy and thanked Festo very much.

From there I continued with my education with the program paying school fees for me (from ordinary level (O’level, S.1 to S.4) at Kabindi Secondary School 2005-2007, Advanced level (A’level S.5 to S.6) at Kisoro Vision S.S 2009-2010) and it is still helping me at Makerere University where I have come to know very many things, acquired new skills  in technology such as database management, systems and software development, websites development, mobile application development computer networking among others.

Future plans.
After finishing my bachelors in Software Engineering at Makerere I hope to work hand in hand with MCDO and my other fellow beneficiaries of this program to help other youth or young generation get education as I was helped. I will also work together with MCDO to help people especially those who do not know how far technology has reached come to know about it through teaching them how to use technology devices especially computers that ease ways of doing things and automation. I will be there for everyone who will be in need of me.

I extend my sincere thanks to my sponsors and staff members of the MCDO for their support towards my education for without them I wouldn’t be where I am today. I also encourage my fellow friends who are also being helped by this program to take advantage of the program to meet there future wishes and remember to come back after our studies and also help our young brothers and sisters to test the life of education.
