Represented by Godfrey Habumuremyi, Mgahinga Community Development Organization (MCDO) was among 30 Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) under the Uganda UNDP/GEF-CSO Network who shared their experiences in the workshop held in Jinja-Kampala. The CSOs who participated in SGP Briefing scheduled from May 15-17, 2016 in Jinja - Kampala were from all over Uganda.
MCDO is still committed to implement to contribute to the GEF focal area of biodiversity conservation through collaborating with young generation to help them realize their big role today and future in sustaining of our environment. We believe that one way of achieving this is to actively involve the community especially youths and school children. The children participate in conservation education under school exchange programs where school children from various conservation areas share their best practices and methodologies they employ to contribute to the conservation the environment in Kisoro district.
MCDO therefore will continue to partner with other conservation actors and well wishers to ensure the implementation of the conservation education in communities and schools.
Mgahinga Community Development Organization was invited to the GEF CSO workshop together with other 29 Ugandan CSOs.
